Twitterlogue

Here-is-what-I-did-yesterday
  • 06:46 thinking about the marriage conference at the end of today
  • 07:06 @f1ace I wish that mobile.fellowshipone.com would work so that I could look up people for visitation.
  • 07:11 's cable modem is down again. Cann't wait for the new DSL ordered last week.
  • 07:58 Gasup at Chapman & 57 Fullerton for $2.15
  • 10:41 Signing up for Fuller classes in order to walk with Jimmy by June 2009. Without his urging, I would probably take more times...
  • 11:34 to Devina: "thought you'd be interested in this petition bit.ly/LC5h since Arnold urges the CA Supreme Ct to overthrow prop8 results"
  • 12:04 takes lunch time to run to the bank for an investment account for MOO, FXI, T, CSCO, EBAY, and maybe YHOO
  • 12:33 @surviveabear Thx, I can,t afford neither GOOG or AAPL. What about T & EBAY?
  • 15:06 spent too much $$$$$ today, now picking up Timmy, dropping him with MSD as Jho & I go to the Marriage conf. in San Diego.
  • 17:49 Gasup at Arco in Carlsbad on the way to Marriage Conf. with some couples from EM @ $2.09
  • 18:29 got to the hotel, Jho is checking in
  • 18:39 loves the cheap Asian style: 2 rooms for 3 couples (since they wouldn't honor our discount for the 3rd room, we forego that on instead).
  • 19:10 got frustrated driving around looking for parking. We are going to walk there instead.
  • 19:25 got to the conference after walking a block
  • 19:38 starts session "Why Marriages Fail" w Bruce&Janet Hess, Greg Speck.
  • 19:43 heard the 5 threats to marriage:• Difficult adjustments• The world's pattern• Inevitable difficulties• Extramarital "affairs"• Selfishness
  • 20:11 heard some incredible difficulties in marriage, must plan for those!!
  • 20:15 heard that most affairs begin by having someone else *listen* to you instead of your spouse.
  • 20:22 realized that the conf. is very felt-need-oriented. Some Gospel-Centered materials should be the anchor for this 1st session
  • 20:31 was amazed at these pro speakers. They stop on the dot.
  • 20:49 Starts session 2: factors that make communication difficult as well as tips on how to listen and express oneself well with one's spouse
  • 20:56 found out that he has the same communication style w Jho: land-the-plane, just-the-fact, and think-out-loud (conigtive vs. emotional styles)
  • 20:58 wonders if his communication style affects his teaching or not.
  • 21:00 heard that you should "response to emotion w emotion, and fact w fact!"
  • 21:04 didn't know that the 5 levels of communication (a communication exercises he used years ago) makes a main point of this session.
  • 21:12 is hungry (Jho too). It's hard to listen well. Need to: be attentive, accept/understand, ask clarified questions, focus on content not emo
  • 21:17 is really enjoy seeing the pro speaks. They keep you awake. Non-verbal delivers a lot (no wonder emails cause misunderstandings).
  • 21:22 is thinking about how these communication skills should be applied to Timmy as well.
  • 21:29 thinks that this conference would help even couples who are not religious at all. Many couples even come here as last resource & turn around
  • 21:42 done for today, now looking for dinner. Hai is driving us back to Mariott
  • 22:23 eats Papa John's Pizza at the hotel
  • 23:33 Turns in for the night
End-of-day
